The theme of this pen, explicitly written on the cap as Hyakuchō Chōhō (百鳥朝鳳), stems from a deeply beloved ancient Asian folktale known as "The Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix". In ancient times, the phoenix was an ordinary bird with plain feathers who was often mocked by others for its tireless work ethic. While the other birds played, it spent every day industriously gathering and storing discarded seeds and grains in a hollow tree cave. When a catastrophic drought later swept across the land, the plants withered and the avian kingdom faced severe starvation. Seeing their plight, the generous phoenix opened its hidden storehouse and selflessly distributed food to save every bird. Deeply remorseful for their past mockery, the birds felt a profound sense of gratitude once prosperity returned to the land. To honor its virtue, every single bird plucked the most vibrant, iridescent feather from its own body. They wove these magnificent feathers into a radiant robe, crowning the selfless phoenix as the King of Birds. From that day forward, the birds of the world would fly together every spring to pay homage and sing praises to their benevolent ruler.

About Danitrio Genkai Series:

The owner of Danitrio had called this series of pens "Genkai", meaning "limit" in Japanese. The intent was that this would be the largest pen series of Danitrio and no other pen would be larger than it. Little did he know that later on he would develop a series with an even larger pen called the Yokozuna.
